Along the East coast of the United States from the Florida Keys to the Gulf of Maine we have a baitfish called a ballyhoo in the South or a halfbeak in the Northern waters.

All game fish love them no matter what they're called.

Halfbeaks are the bait of choice for Gulf of Maine bluefin tuna during the summer and Cape Lookout bluefin in December and January.

These also will work for all tuna species, kings, barracudas, big blues, and stripers.

They are easily rigged using your favorite single or double hook combinations.
